Opening the Lymphatic Pathways
I would love for you to start dry brushing! Dry brushing is very beneficial to move the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is how our bodies detox! This system is found throughout our entire bodies following the major arteries. Since the lymphatic pathways lie closely to the blood vessels, it utilizes the pumping mechanism of the blood vessels to assist in their own movement.
If lymph is “stuck” then it is not detoxing which leads to stagnation which can lead to health issues. Before starting dry brushing, you should “open” up the lymphatic pathways. This youtube video does a great job at explaining this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT_wW5pNHa4. It should be a short and sweet massage to ensure it can be done DAILY.

This is my favorite brand! They are very strong bristles. If there is uncomfortablility while dry brushing, it could be from stagnant lymph. Just let the weight of the brush do the work. As there is less lymph congestion, it should be more comfortable to dry brush!
Here is a link to a quick tutorial to body brush: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJfFe18L7pQ. Key things to remember- Always move towards your heart! Brush while the body and brush is dry. Brush the entire body. This video doesn’t show all of the joints being brushed, but they must be. The entire body can be done in 90 seconds.
These brushes are designed to be used while dry because the lymphatic system is at the surface of the skin. If the body or the brush is wet, there becomes an increase in friction and the depth of friction changes.
I have a quick tutorial on how to body brush the face on my Instagram account at Hiel_HolisticRemedies. Key things to remember- Always start at the middle of the face and brush out towards the ears and then down the neck. Many people can start to feel the swollen lymphs on the neck when they are getting sick with a cold. As you start your dry brushing journey you will understand that most people have stagnant and swollen lymph nodes on a daily basis. Dry brushing will not only help you move toxins and exfoliate, it will depuff your face!
Another important reason to dry brush the face and neck is because of the thyroid. So many people are having thyroid imbalances. The thyroid is on the front side of the neck. Dry brushing this area can help stimulate cleaner lymph for the organ to benefit all of the organ’s functions.
I also found an Instagram account at AnastasiaBeautyFascia. She has some clips of how to get rid of hooded eyes, full face massages and daily routines for beauty, but ultimately it is all about moving stagnant lymph! If you follow her account she goes live on Instagram often and walks you thru a routine. Don’t let this fool you, she transforms health not only beauty! Stagnant lymph can make you look puffy as well as cause skin conditions and many health issues.
